Music at Christ Church

Music at Christ Church is uplifting, worshipful, and varied.  Great choral masterpieces, Spirituals, Anglican chant, modern hymns, contemporary worship music, and traditional hymns are all sung and performed throughout the year.  Instrumentalists and vocal soloists often provide special selections throughout the year and on Feast Days.  For more information about our music program, or to learn about how to join one of our groups, please contact the Director of Music.

The Christ Church Choir
With an average of 12-16 singers, this ensemble of mixed voices sings weekly at the 10:30 Eucharist from September - June, and participates in special liturgies throughout the church year.  The Choir is open to all teens and adults, and rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:30 PM, and on Sunday mornings at 9:55 AM.

Youth Praise Band
8th through 12th graders lead music at the monthly 5:00 PM Eucharist, and also on certain Sunday mornings.  Guitars, piano, percussion, and voices join together in leading modern worship songs.

Junior Choir
One Sunday per month, the Junior Choir offers musical selections at the 10:30 Eucharist, and also at some of the special liturgies observed throughout the church year.  This ensemble is open to children in third through seventh grade, and rehearses Wednesdays from 3:15 to 5:00 PM.

Cherub Choir
Under the direction of parishioner Anne Middleton, this group is open to children in grades K-2 and rehearses Wednesday afternoons from 4:00 to 5:00 PM.  For information, call 772-4820.

The Lively-Fulcher Pipe Organ
Completed in the summer of 2006, our 3-manual 45-rank organ is a work of art, from the palette of sounds to the delicate carving on the pipe shades; from the rich quarter-sawn white oak case to the rosewood inlay on the console.  Mark Lively and Paul Fulcher of Washington, D.C. have created a superb instrument for our church.
