For Kids... At Christ Church, kids don't just disappear into the background - they are celebrated and cared for, nurtured and loved. Kids are welcome in all of our worship services. You are invited to bring quiet toys, activities, and even a non-messy snack for your children. Whispers and quiet movement in the pew is completely acceptable. To ensure the safety of each and every child at Christ Church, all adults working with young people at have completed the New Hampshire Diocesan Safe Church training program.
Sunday School
Children’s Chapel Children from Preschool through 3rd Grade are invited to Children’s Chapel on Sundays! They start out with their parents for the first portion of the 10:30 liturgy, and then move to the Chapel to sing and hear the Gospel illustrated with an age-appropriate story. Children then return to church in time to take Communion with their family.
Both a Crib Room (for children 18 months and younger), and a Toddler Room (“walkers” up to the age of 3) are available downstairs in Harris House from 9:15 to 11:45 AM Sundays. Parents are encouraged to pick up their children and take them into worship for Communion or a blessing.
Communion Preparation Program Any baptized child, no matter what their age, is welcome to receive communion in The Episcopal Church; Episcopalians do not have special “First Communion” services. For parents who wish it, we offer a “take-home” Communion Preparation program which readies children for the receiving of the Eucharist. In the winter/spring, we also offer a “Communion Education” program for 2nd through 4th graders. If you have any questions please contact the Associate Rector or the Church School Coordinator.
