Fellowship
Socially, Christ Church is a happening place. We value the
time we spend together, sharing, laughing, and getting to know one
another a little better outside of the context of worship.
Coffee Fellowship
Each Sunday following the 8:00 and 10:30 liturgies, all are invited
to Harris Hall for coffee, donuts and to relax and chat with the
clergy, vestry, and members of the parish.
The Foyer Fellowship
Foyers are open to all, singles and couples, young and old, in the
parish. You may choose between “Adult” Foyer Groups or those which
include children - “Family” Foyer Groups.
Each
group consists of 6-8 people, and members usually take turns
hosting. The host home provides the main course and other dishes
are contributed by guests. Foyer Groups have no structure nor
agenda, and serve as a wonderful way to get to know fellow
parishioners of Christ Church.
Newcomers’ Fellowship
Four times a year, the Rector and his family throw open the doors of
their home to welcome all those who are new to the church. Food,
fellowship, and informal conversation is the agenda, and newcomers
to the church find these gatherings to be a great way to acquaint
themselves with some of the officers of the church, as well as other
individuals and families new to the parish.
Youth Groups
The Junior High (grades 7-8), and Senior High (grades 9-12) Youth
Groups take trips, perform service projects, study and learn, and
have a lot of fun! Several adults participate as volunteer youth
ministers, and we often wonder which age group has the most fun… For
more information, please contact the
Youth Minister.
Parish-Wide Activities
One of the distinguishing characteristics
of Christ Church is the number of all-parish activities, which
include...
Fall Festival and Concert
On the last Sunday afternoon in October, a
festival of fun activities for all ages begins at 3:30 followed
by a concert for the entire family at 5:00 PM. This year
organist Brian Jones plays the “chilling sounds of the pipe
organ.”
Rummage Sale
A major outreach activity each fall providing the
opportunity for the parish to come together in fellowship and
fun to help the community.
Preparing for Advent in the Home
On the Saturday morning before the beginning of
Advent all are invited for a morning of fun, learning and making
Advent wreaths for home and the church from fresh greens.
Exeter
Christmas Parade Float
Christ Church displays the true ‘reason for the
season’ along the parade route. Young and old come together to
build the float and our kids climb on for the parade route.
The Greening of the Church
As we prepare to enter the Christmas season,
parishioners gather in the church to deck the halls with greens,
trees, and candles. A soup luncheon completes the day.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
The day before Ash Wednesday we gather for a
pancake supper and a brief service held by the fireplace in
Harris Hall.
Preparing for Lent in the Home
Just before the beginning of Lent, all are
invited for an evening of activities and learning different ways
to observe Lent at home.
Talent Show
Every spring we host an evening of singing,
dancing, acting, comedy, or whatever your talent happens to be,
in a coffeehouse-style setting.
Outdoor Service & Parish Picnic
Each June our 10:30 AM liturgy is held outside in
the midst of God’s creation. The annual picnic follows, with
games and activities for children, youth and the young at heart.
Family
Outings
We are always putting together groups to attend various shows and
sporting events. It’s a great way to get to know that person who
sits across from you! A few places we travel...
